Town Board Meeting — Minutes

Monthly Town Board Meeting – December 30th, 2024 The Town Board of the Town of Brothertown met at 6:00 p.m. at the town hall to audit and pay all bills and take care of agenda items before the board. The meeting was properly announced. All said the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Chairman: Chuck Schneider, Supervisors: Doug Marcelle and Larry Propson, Treasurer: Lori Fhlug, Highway Supervisor: Logan Schmitz, Clerk: LeAnne Karls and two citizens. Larry Propson made a motion, seconded by Doug Marcelle, to accept the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Doug Marcelle made a motion, seconded by Chuck Schneider, to accept the minutes of the December 3rd, 2024 meeting as read. Motion carried. Lori Fhlug gave the Treasurer’s Report for November 2024. Larry Propson made a motion, seconded by Doug Marcelle, to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion carried. Bills were presented. Chuck Schneider made a motion, seconded by Larry Propson, to cancel the land line service through Frontier. Motion carried. Doug Marcelle made a motion, seconded by Larry Propson, approving payment of bills and disbursements for December 2024. Motion carried. There were no certified survey maps and no citizen comments. Chairman Schneider reviewed the WTA District Meeting schedule to ensure members attend the mandatory Board of Review Training. Chuck Schneider made a motion, seconded by Larry Propson, to adjust the per diem for members of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Plan Commission to $75.00 for four hours and under and $85.00 for over four hours effective January 1st, 2025. Secretaries are to still be paid double the per diem amount. Motion carried. Tree removal bid by Abler Tree Company LLC was reviewed. The projects are anticipated to take a combined total of 30-40 hours. Matter is tabled until February meeting to discuss process. Chairman Schneider & Logan are to follow up with land owners and WTA. Chairman Schneider advised the other members that the Town of Calumet Annual Fireman’s Meeting is set for 01/21/2025. Logan Schmitz gave the Highway Supervisor Report. 40 x 60 shed quote obtained - $105,690 with no excavation but with the slab and overhead doors. Specs to be finalized and bids need to be obtained. Chairman Schneider advised that Witkowski Inspection Agency has agreed to stay on for some time to help with the building inspector situation. A broadband meeting has been scheduled for January 8th, 2025 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Board members are encouraged to attend. Chuck Schneider made a motion, seconded by Larry Propson, to close the books for year 2024. Motion carried.
