Town Board — Minutes

July14, 2025 The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Rantoul was called to order at 7: 00pm at the Village Hall of Potter by Chairman Mertz. He verified that meeting notices were posted on July11, 2025. The Town Board viewed the most recent sales listing, and Calumet County permit activity. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the June 2025minutes as printed ;motion carried by voice vote . Motion by Eickert, second by Jannetteto accept the Treasurer’s report , after bills,of Checking account balance of $9,328.00, Money Market account balance of $ 248,238.84 and Tax Collection Account of $1 .00 for a total of $257,567.84;motion carried by voice vote. An Assessment for Maintenance Assessment Ser vices from Action Appraisers was reviewed by the town board. The contract will cover 2026-2029 and cost $9,265 annually. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to accept the 2026- 2029 Assessment for Maintenance Assessment Services contract from Action Appraisers; motion carried by voice vote. Updating the employee handbook was briefly discusses. Samples from two other local municipalities were handed out for the board to review. This item will be tabled until August for more review time. For the 2024 Roadwork Report, Roads Maintenance Supervisor Wunrow shared an estimate from Calumet County for pulverizing and paving 22’ x 200’ on Fischer Rd for $9,801.52. An estimate from Quality Painters LLC was reviewed to clean and paint the orange bridge, and concrete application in the amount of $10,568.20. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the Fischer Rd roadwork, and orange bridge painting and refinishing projects; motion carried by voice vote. The WTA County Unit meeting will take place on July 1 7 th, at the Town of Chilton . Supervisor Eickert, Supervisor Jannette, and Clerk Mink plan to attend. A roads tour will be conducted sometime in August or September. For correspondence this month, the board reviewed a public notice for a water withdrawal permit from the DNR to withdraw water from the Manitowoc River from Dallman’s East River Dairy, and well as the letter sent to area residents, as well as 2026 rates for Wisconsin Retirement System pension. Billstotaling $54,808.66were presented . Motion by Eickert, second by Jannetteto approve the bills as presented; motion carried by voice vote. An itemized list follows.
