Town Board — Minutes

March 10, 2025 The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Rantoul was called to order at 6:30 pm at the Village Hall of Potter by Chairman Mertz. He verified that meeting notices were posted on March 7, 2025. Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to approve the February 2025 minutes as printed; motion carried by voice vote. Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to accept the Treasurer’s report of Checking account balance of $ 43,652.01, Money Market account balance of $265,484.40 and Tax Collection Account of $1.00 for a total of $309,137.41; motion carried by voice vote. Clerk Mink gave a report on the 2025 Spring Primary. There were 63 total voters, 16 of which were absentee voters. The WTA 2025 Spring Road School in Wisconsin Dells was discussed. No one plans to attend at this time. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to reappoint Clerk Mink as Town Clerk for a two (2) year term ending March 31, 2027; motion carried by voice vote. Open Book and Board of Review rescheduling dates were discussed. The Open Book will take place May 12th, 2025 from 4-6 pm with the appraiser in person at the Potter Village Hall. The Board of Review will take place May 29th, 2025 from 5-7pm. The WTA district meeting was discussed which will take place March 22nd at the Farm Discovery Center in Manitowoc, and will include Board of Review training. Supervisors Jannette and Eickert to attend, as well as Connie Loose. For the Calumet County Striping Contract, 5-7 miles of striping are planned. Four estimates for replacement pickup trucks were all reviewed by the Town Board. The lowest estimate was on a 2025 Dodge Ram 2500 for $41,800.00 from Ewald Automotive Group. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to purchase the 2025 Dodge Ram 2500 for $41,800.00; motion carried by voice vote. The 2024 Year End Audit of the Books was reviewed by the Board. Motion by Eickert, second by Jannette to accept the 2024 Year End Audit of the Books as presented. Motion carried by voice vote. The 2024 Annual Report was also reviewed by the Board. This will be approved at the Annual Meeting on March 15th. The next Road Maintenance meeting will be planned April 8th at 10:30 am. **This meeting was rescheduled to April 9th at 4pm.** Bills totaling $462,571.92 were presented. Motion by Jannette, second by Eickert to approve the bills as presented; motion carried by voice vote. An itemized list follows.
