Plan Commission Meeting — Minutes

Town of Three Lakes Plan Commission Regular Meeting Minutes June 23, 2026 – 5:30 p.m. Meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairman Hegeman. Commissioners present: Karl Koenig, Don Meeder, and Matt Olkowski. Absent: Ryan Miller and Adam Urban. Plan Commission Secretary Kelly Strauss recorded the minutes. Secretary Strauss reported on the agenda posting in accordance with WI Open Meeting Law. Quorum of Commissioners (4 of 7) was established. Motion by Meeder (Olkowski) to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried. 4:0 Motion by Olkowski (Koenig) to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried. 4:0. Discussion took place on the administrative review permit application by James Wescott, applicant and owner to rent the dwelling as a tourist rooming house for no more than one (1) rental per seven (7) day period at 6821 Drury Lane Loop. Motion by Olkowski (Meeder) to recommend to the county approval of the tourist rooming house application before us as presented on behalf of James Wescott as presented. Motion carried. 4:0. Discussion took place on the administrative review permit application by Karla Ellis, applicant an owner of Affordable Property Solutions LLC, to rent the dwelling as a tourist rooming house for less than thirty (30) consecutive days at 1658 Superior Street, Unit 2. Motion by Meeder (Koenig) to approve. Motion carried. 4:0. Discussion took place on the administrative review permit application by John Bauer, applicant and owner, to rent the dwelling as a tourist rooming house for less than thirty (30) consecutive days at 948 Golf Course Loop, Unit 5. Motion by Olkowski (Koenig) to recommend approval of the tourist rooming house application before us submitted by, on behalf of, John Bauer. Motion carried. 4:0. Jacqui Sharpe was not present at the meeting but provided Chairman Hegeman with an update regarding the owner of the grocery store has connected with a business broker who has sold businesses in Three Lakes before, and she is no longer involved. Secretary Strauss updated the Commissioners the committee is getting all details finalized for the unveiling ceremony, and prior to that a bench will be etched in honor of Veterans Memorial Committee Chairman Pat Volk who recently passed away. Collette Sorgel was present and noted the Natural Resources Sub-Committee is hosting Pollinator Day on 6/28/26; Secretary Strauss noted Rich Javenkoski said buckthorn removal is scheduled, and she reminded him of their $500.00 budget for this.
