O MOTION REUSS/SECOND SCHUTT. To approve road committee recommendations for 2026 road
work. VOTE: MOTION UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED.
At the June 24th 2026 Road Committee Meeting, the road committee opened
and reviewed the bid requests it made for road improvement projects to be
completed in 2026. The bid specifications were completed on our behalf by
Town & Country Engineering and included chip sealing and fog coating 16 town
roads, totaling 10.2 miles in length. Two bids were received to complete the
required work for 2026, one from Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, LLC. and one from Pitlik
& Wick. Both bids were reviewed individually with each one fully meeting bid
package specifications including completion in 2026. Fahrner’s bid package totaled
$260,138.42. Pitlik & Wick’s package totaled $251,972.64. In all respects other than
cost, the bids were virtually identical, so Pitlik and Wick’s lower total cost makes
them the successful bidder. It should also be noted, Pitlik & Wick’s bid is under the
2026 the town’s budgeted amount of $255,000 while Fahner’s bid was $5,136.42
more than its budget. By unanimous vote, the Road Committee therefore
recommends Pitlik & Wick be awarded the contract to complete the 2026 road
Improvement work in the amount of $251,972.64.
