Road Committee Meeting Minutes June 24, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. Town Office, Boulder Junction Community Center 5392 Park Street, Boulder Junction, WI 54512 1) CALL TO ORDER/ PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/ ROLL CALL Meeting was called to order by Dennis Reuss at 3:00 PM. Attendees: Committee Members: Gary Jacobi, Dennis Reuss, Greg Van Grinsven Guests: Ryan Welch 2) APPROVAL OF AGENDA /ORDER OF THE DAY (discussion & possible action) Motion to approve the agenda: Greg Van Grinsven. Second: Gary Jacobi Motion passed by unanimous vote in favor. 3) UNFINISHED BUSINESS (discussion & possible action) (a) Discuss / Approve the May 7, 2026 Road Committee Meeting minutes. Motion to approve the Meeting Minutes of 05-07-2026: Greg Van Grinsven. Second: Gary Jacobi. Motion passed by unanimous vote in favor. (b) Discuss the contents of the bid packages received for the 2026 Road Improvement Projects. Two bids were received for the 2026 Road Improvement Projects. One from Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, LLC. and one from Pitlik & Wick. Both bids were reviewed individually and fully met all the specifications as presented in the bid package with completion of the proposed work to be completed by the end of 2026. Pitlik verbally reported that there were six or seven areas that required some patching work and Dennis Reuss informed them that the town of Boulder Junction would be responsible for completing this patching work before any additional repair work would be completed. Fahrner’s bid package totaled $260,138.42 and Pitlik & Wick’s package totaled $251,972.64. In all respects other than cost, the bids were almost identical, so based upon Pitlik and Wick’s lower cost the road committee made a recommendation that they be awarded the bid package. Dennis Reuss’ motion, seconded by Greg Van Grinsven, was as follows: The Boulder Junction Road Committee recommends the Town Board of Boulder Junction award the bid package for the 2026 Road Improvement work to Pitlik & Wick in the amount of $251,972.64. Motion passed by unanimous vote. During the discussion portion of the motion, it was noted that Pitlik & Wick’s bid was within the 2026 road contracts budgeted amount of $255,000. This recommendation will be presented to the Town Board at their next scheduled meeting. (c) Guest(s) may address the committee regarding agenda items. None made. (d) Discuss and identify next steps. Greg Van Grinsven will be making the Road Committee’s recommendation to the Town Board at their next scheduled meeting. (e) Discuss and set the date for the next road improvement committee meeting. Item tabled until the results of the recommendation being made to the Town Board are known. 4) ADJOURN (discussion & possible action).
