Minutes of Boulder Junction Economic Development Committee MeetingWednesday December 3, 20258:30 a.m.Boulder Junction Community Center Our Mission: To explore, develop and promote opportunities and investment options supporting our economic development objectives while enhancing community prosperity.MINUTES1)CALL TO ORDER-PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE-ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Bill Spear (Co-Chair) followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was done. Present were Bill Spear, Steve Weber, Nathan Keisler, Mary Jones, Cherie Sanderson, Steve Coon and Anne Derber. Absent with Notice Wendi Neupert GUESTS: Ian Brown and Kate Frisk2)APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: at the Chair’s Discretion (discussion & possible action). MOTION/Weber SECOND/Derber MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.3)APPROVAL OF November 5, 2025, MEETING MINUTES (discussion & possible action). MOTION Weber SECOND/Jones MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.4)WELCOME GUESTS: Ian Brown and Kate Frisk5)UNFINISHED BUSINESS:a) Monthly report on Committee Budget: 2026 budget was requested at $3,000b) Monthly Communities Reporting: Razz is on the market. Local motels were offering discounts to any volunteers helping clear the snowmobile trails. The Glide has received great publicity and has a media scheduled for December 12th. There is a path plowed around the playground and ballfield for walkers.c) Update on grants. MOTION Weber SECOND Sanderson to renew the Grant Watch subscription.d) Update on task group for Station. Interviewed a consulting firm to help with developing fundraising. Working on copy for engagement meetings.e) Update on talent in the woods. Distributed final copy of tax insert and questionnaire. f) EDC page on Town website. Cherie and Mary have made changes. Looking to add project information. 6)NEW BUSINESS: a) Business Update: Ian Brown has a long family history in the Northwoods, Boulder Jct and Camp Manitowish. He and Tracey were looking for a location for a craft brewery. Provided the development of the business plan, acquisition of the property and facility development. Should be opening before the end of the year. 7) REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Workshop format to discuss EDC Strategic Plan. 8) CONFIRM DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF NEXT MEETING (discussion & possible action). Next scheduled meeting January 7, 2026.
