Minutes of Boulder Junction Economic Development Committee MeetingWednesday November 5, 20258:30 a.m.Boulder Junction Community Center Our Mission: To explore, develop and promote opportunities and investment options supporting our economic development objectives while enhancing community prosperity.MINUTES1)CALL TO ORDER-PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE-ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Bill Spear (Co-Chair) followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was done. Present were Bill Spear, Steve Weber, Wendi Neupert, Nathan Keisler, Mary Jones, Cherie Sanderson and Anne Derber. Absent with Notice Dick Jenks and Steve Coon GUESTS: Jim Becker and Kate Frisk2)APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: at the Chair’s Discretion (discussion & possible action). MOTION Weber SECOND/Neupert MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.4)WELCOME GUESTS: Jim Becker and Kate Frisk5)UNFINISHED BUSINESS:a) Monthly report on Committee Budget: 2026 budget will be requested at $3,000.b) Monthly Communities Reporting: Lakewood Market is offering 10% discount on groceries and produce for BJ residents in their rewards program.c) Update on grants. No reportd) Update on task group for Station. Task group met on November 4th. Developing cost estimates for various buildings. Also met with a consulting company to help develop fund raising material and assist with engagement meetings. Waiting on proposal.e) Update on talent in the woods. Distributed a copy of tax insert as well as press release. Working on web site link to goggle form.f) EDC page on Town website. Cherie and Mary have made changes. Next step to include “what have we done” “what are we working on”. 6)NEW BUSINESS: a) Business Update: Jim Becker from Joyful Loon gift shop. Background as owner of advertising agency in southern WI. Looking for retirement activity. Shop includes a variety of gift items including kaleidoscopes, balsamic vinegar, pottery, vintage vinyl albums, dog treats and wine. Good first 5 months of sales. Looking to add new items monthly. 7) REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Continue a business update. Will ask Ian Brown from Brewery. 8) CONFIRM DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF NEXT MEETING (discussion & possible action). Next scheduled meeting December 3, 2025.
