Airport Commission Meeting — Minutes

Minutes LOL airport commission Sept 1,2026 5:30pm FBO Attendance: Joe Garvin, Fred Prehn, John Voss, Dan Wait, Jim Stops Garvin called meeting to order. Meeting was properly posted Agenda was read and accepted. Moved Wait/Voss passed 5-0 Meeting minutes both ex session and open session were read and accepted Wait/Voss moved to accept passed 5-0 Motion to go into closed session s19.85 1 c Wait/Voss roll call all voted yeah 5-0 ( lasted 1.5 hours ) Reconvene into open session released action: Commission reviewed 12 applications, interviewed Paul Klomhaus for 1.2 hours Voted to offer manager contract to Klomhaus. With full time for 60 days , then part time there after as manager overseeing operation of airport Discussed New airport job description for manager position, no changes to document presented by Prehn. Voss/Stops moved to accept job description passed 5-0 A report was given to commission from Garvin /Prehn on state of airport. Last weekend the hanger was cleaned out and FBO as well form retained garbage and years of old items and documents. Thanks were given to all commissions who worked all weekend. Also thanks Kevin Konnow from Town Board and his kids and Waits employees as well. A 20 yard dumpster and 5 pickups full of trash were removed. Mice and rats have been trapped and removed. Garvin and Prehn related emergent administrative issues dealt with. A 30-90 plan for Klomhaus presented by Prehn was reviewed and verbally accepted to help new manger get started on pressing needs Prehn reported that hanger g1 owner Dan Pregont was referred to town attorney, who today filed paperwork to evict tenant of said property. We did not hear back from Pregont and options presented in July were not accepted. Vilas Sherrif will serve as soon as they can. October 1, 2026 will be deadline to vacate premise. Budget was discussed and needs to be gone over with all the deferred and lack of maintenance. Voss agreed to help with spread sheet and pre budget needs . Public meeting set for September 10, 2026 at 5:30pm at FBO to develop and approve budget to present to board. Public is welcome to attend and will be allowed to ask questions No other business was needed and occurred, motion Wait/Voss passed to adjourn 7:45 Submitted Prehn acting secretary
