Airport Commission Meeting 3/13/26Attendance: Commission- Fred Prehn (VIA zoom), John Voss, Joe Garvin, Dan Wait (Tardy) Jim Stops Airport Manager- Bruce Garrison Others in attendance: None Meeting called to order 4:30pm - Fred PrehnRead and accept agenda -John 1st /Jim 2nd passed unanimouslyAccept minutes from prior September 30, 2025, John 1st/ Jim 2nd Passed UnanimouslyBOA Project Update: Manager presented copies of email correspondence with BOA regarding community hanger project. Notably, to commission’s attention was that the airport would be responsible for $16,568 up front cost and a total responsibility of approximately $93,000 for the project in total. This raised several questions by commission members, one of which was the cost share needed for the master plan, as well as what money would be needed for Our share of the accepted SRE Equipment GrantAdditionally, the topic of the funds coming out of the improvement fund, and if this decision to move forward with hanger project made the best sense for the airport. Some action items were brought to the table and delivered in the form of a MotionACTION ITEMS:Motion made for Bruce to get a total cost share of the Master Plan.Bruce to inquire about equipment update on cost and statusBruce to clean up total cost and more definitive description of hanger project (I.E. Blueprints, what we are getting, insulation, door sizes, dimensions, power)Bruce to report these action items in an email as soon as possible and an email vote will be taken of commission members as to if we should move forward with the $16,000 down payment on Hanger Project. Airport Commission Meeting 3/13/26MOTION MADE OF ALL ABOVE ACTION ITEMS – John 1st/ Jim 2nd Passed Unanimously Manager’s Report by Bruce, Airport ManagerManagers’ report, as written, financial accounts were stated to not be accurately reported as what was written in report was from previous meetings. Motion made to approve Steve Kuiper to purchase hanger #8 and sign lease with commission. John 1st Joe 2nd Passed Unanimously Update within managers’ report on hangers:Leases are voluntarily updated and renewed into new recent lease by many hanger tenants.Another discussion arose on hanger violations, Motion was made to have hanger lease violations and expired lease holders on the next meeting agenda.Bruce to present commission with current or latest lease signed by hanger # 9 Lease Holder. Jim 1st/ Dan 2nd Passed Unanimously Manager voluntarily defied motion passed at last meeting to mail owner of G1 a drafted letter from commissioner Fred Prehn regarding the building on airport grounds. Bruce presented a revised letter to commission that was revised by him, yet still unsent. ACTION ITEM: Commission made yet another motion that airport manager follow through with already passed motion and mail tenant of G1 a letter of violation (see previous meeting minutes)Jim 1st/ Dan 2nd Joe Abstain all others in favor Event Hosting discussion was held as previous events were generously hosted in a hanger that was privately owned, and is no longer available Airport Commission Meeting 3/13/26Options such as large tents, or cleaning and moving some of the equipment in the SRE building or reaching out to other tenants on the field and seeing if they would be interested in hosting airport days and or the Hamburger Social. Commission expressed the importance of these events still happening at KLNLSPRING PROJECTSBruce stated that some sidewalk and concrete work would be taking place this spring and early summer along with two terminal doors being replaced.
