Land O’ Lakes Public Library Board of Trustees Minutes of Mar 11, 2026 1. Call to Order: Meeting called to order by Bob Hughes at 9:03am 2. Establish that Proper Notice has been given a. meeting posted on March 6, 2026 3. Quorum established a. Roll Call and introduction of guest, if any b. Trustees Present: Bob Hughes, Greg Wenzel, Mary Jo Zane, Marcie Thorp, Jone Davis, Bernie Heindl, Donna Murray-Tiedge c. Absent Excused: d. Also in Attendance: Shelly Knaack 4. Approval of Secretary’s Minutes a. Motion by Greg Wenzel, second by Bernie Heindl to approve the minutes from the meeting, motion carried 5. Treasurer’s Report a. Financial Report i. Motion by MaryJo Zane , second by Donna Murray-Tiedge, to approve the financial report, motion carried b. Check Authorization i. Motion by Bernie Heindl, second by Greg Wenzel, to approve the payment of bills, motion carried 6. Director’s Report a. Statistics shared i. Patron Count for FEB: 1,332 ii. Feb. Physical Circ. Total: 879 (Adult: 696 Children’s: 183) iii. Feb. Digital + Audio Circ. Total: 817 b. Upcoming Programs i. March 11th Elder Benefits Specialist One-on-One drop in starting at 11 ii. March 12th: Bar Cookie Crawl at 1 PM-tasters and entries needed! iii. Mar. 20th: Dips, Spreads & Crackers with Dottie Reeder—11 AM iv. March 26th: Movie Afternoon and Evening: “Wicked for Good” with Wicked themed refreshments at 1 PM and 6 PM c. Ongoing: Mahjongg on Tuesdays at 1 PM, Storytime on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:30 AM, Lego Club at 3:30 PM on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. Library Explorers (homeschool group) on the 12th and 26th of March. d. Coming up in April: EveryBunny Reads on April 4th from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM. We will be doing another Puzzle Challenge on April 13th and another Candy Bingo on May 7th. e. Programming recap i. We had a wonderful 3rd annual Soup Event! There were 12 soups, sourdough bread that was made by Cathy Lowrey. Cherie Hughes made a delicious focaccia. Cornbread showed up as well as brownies and Italian bread. ii. We had 5 people for our Evening Movie and none for our Afternoon Movie in Feb. Chocolate Bingo was great fun with many people attending, eating chocolate and having a great time winning the prizes. f. Inventory i. Every 5 years, the library has to do inventory. We will be doing that this year, scheduled for April 27th and 28th. We will be closing for those 2 days. There are 4 scanners. Besides myself, Karen, Frisk and Stacey Adams will be doing inventory. 7. Maintenance Report a. Hallway to Lower Level- Update i. Paladin Fire Panel Installed and working perfectly. The owner showed me how to conduct a Fire Alarm test every month, so we can be compliant with our Fire Inspections. ii. The upper door behind the Circulation Area is being ordered from Boone’s—Greg & Daniel will install. iii. heater in the stairwell was replaced iv. A couple more Exit lights to install and that project will be done. 8. Old Business a. Public Art: Sculpture Project i. motion by Donna Murray-Tiedge to have Page our current statue put on the map if possible and reserve the decision of the library as a site for a sculpture in the future if the library doesn’t have to spend money, seconded by Marcie Thorp, motion carried b. Town of Watersmeet Board Meeting Review i. Shelly presented to the board on all things library ii. Greg did a follow call 1. they have a contentious budget meeting 2. waiting to hear iii. They were respective and appreciative 9. New Business a. Volunteer Appreciation Celebration i. Shelly will check with Gateway, Brews Pub, and Pine Cone ii. Thursdays if possible May 7, 202610.
