Road Construction Projects for 2026
The board reviewed proposed road construction projects for 2026 including Anderson Lake Road, West Black Oak
Lake Road, and Boygan Lake Road. These projects were already included in the budget. There was discussion that
the Boygan Lake Road portion might cost more than initially budgeted, but the board agreed it would be better to
complete the work now while equipment is mobilized rather than delay, as costs would likely increase in the future.
The board reviewed the bid request notice and discussed who should be listed as the town representative for
contractors to contact with questions. While John was suggested as the expert on roads, it was determined that
requests would flow through the Town Foreman first, with John Barnekow providing expertise when needed.
Motion to publish the Town of Land O'Lakes proposed road works for 2026 and place them out for bid with a
deadline of February 18, 2026 at 3pm was made by Supervisor Konnow, seconded by Supervisor Otterpohl.
Motion carried unanimously.
DNR Funding for Tower Lake Road Project
The board discussed the Tower Lake Road project, which involves widening the road to 24 feet and regraveling it
with 8 inches of aggregate across 4,600 feet from Indian Lake to the town line. The area is mostly sand and has been
maintained throughout the fall while logging operations were taking place. The project questionnaire needs to be
submitted to the DNR for approval before bidding.
Motion to submit the Tower Lake Road project to the DNR for approval was made by Supervisor Otterpohl,
seconded by Chairman Balog. Motion carried unanimously.
Next Meeting Date for the Town Board is Wed. February 18, 2026 at 6pm
The next board meeting was confirmed for February 18, 2026 at 6:00 PM.
Public Input- Limited to Items on the Agenda
A resident raised concerns about how town crew members clean leaves from drains. They described instances where
workers would shovel leaves only 3 inches away from the drain, resulting in leaves washing back into the drain
during the next rain. The resident suggested that leaves should be placed in the truck rather than left beside the drain.
Chairman Balog stated he would convey the message to the town crew.
Adjournment
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:31pm was made by Supervisor Otterpohl, seconded by Supervisor
Konnow. Motion carried unanimously.
Respectfully Submitted,
Lynn Jolin, Clerk/Treasurer
