ii.Donna Murray-Tiedge introduced herself to the board and stated her interest in the
vacant position.
b. Michigan Patrons/Libby Access
i. Other libraries which border another state are not providing Libby access with the
library card, however, Land O’ Lakes is in a unique situation with Watersmeet. We get
money from Gogebic County, but not from the township. Stats for our patron locations
are : Land O’ Lakes 51%, Watersmeet 31%, Conover 6%, Phelps 5%, and other 7%.
Discussion included possible solutions, such as sending postcards to Watersmeet
neighbors, contact town board, charging for digital account. Ironwood currently charges
$25 for non-resident access to Libby. Shelly Knaack is on a NWLS committee which is
determining what to do about e-cards. Greg Wenzel will work with Shelly Knaack in
Watersmeet.

iii. Greg-Chair rail is done in meeting room. Some touch ups needed to complete. Upper
door behind circulation desk needs replacing. Attempts to trim it to solve problem did
not work.

recommendation. Lots of progress has been made.
v. Ends for bookshelf from Uline are still on hold.

b. Successful Events in November
i.Artisan Cinnamon Roll class was wonderful and well attended. The movie “F1” had 8
people attend at the 6:30 showing. Holiday ornament workshop was more successful
than last year with 130 participants and great fun. Christmas cookie decorating with
Dottie Reeder had 10 participants, 4 of them were children. Story Hour, Mahjong and
Lego club continue to have a good number of attendees.
Karen and Shelly decorated the community room, so it looks very festive and created a
great atmosphere for all the Holiday events.
c. Website: Brendan Tuckey from Wisconsin Valley Library Service has been meeting with
Shelly Knaack to flip over the website from our current company to the library service. It is a
tedious process, but Shelly is working hard to implement everything needed on the website,
including a “Donate” button for folks to donate to The Friends of the Library. This change
made more work for the director, but will save some money in the long run for the library.
Our website will need to be ADA compliant by April of 2027.
