Beautification Committee — Minutes

Land O’ Lakes Planning and Beautification Committee Minutes November 12, 2025 ________________________________________________________ Present: Debbie Hintz, Cheri Hughes, Barbara Nehring. Frank Marfia by phone I. Pledge of Allegiance was said II. Introduction of guests/ none III. October minutes- approved, first by Cheri, second by Frank IV. November agenda- approved first by Cheri, second by Frank V. Old business A, pollinator garden/ nothing new B. Apple orchard- Frank said the final 60 apples were picked and delivered to the elementary school. Cari Brock( the principal) said they are moving forward with the orchard space behind the school. They had a beehive brought in to help pollinate the trees and for learning purposes. Barb mentioned a worm project for the school to teach about fertilization. The library staff requested an orchard talk from Frank in April, Austen Ramesh has started a fence company and we will request bids from him for new orchard gate. Debbie will check on prices. C. Walking trail/ the sculpture is installed on the walking trail and looks great. D. Plantings E. Lake banners- someone put blue tape on banners in basement. Town crew possibly? F. Budget/ spent to date $5509.09 G. Christmas- Lynn Kahlenberg to do H. Fall decor- taken down by Cheri, Sue and Debbie I. Recurring maintenance 1. Mowing/ done 2. Trash cans- new one to be put by playground next spring 3. Trim side walks - done 4. Leo lang - shutdown done by Greenlawn 5. 2026 budget- results next week VI. New business A. Veterans flags- Sam Otterpohl approached us with ideas for veteran flags with their photos to be put on flagpoles near Memorial Day. Will check with Diane for prices and invite Sam to January meeting for more info, B. Town Amazon account- Lynn Jolin said the town has an Amazon account and if anything is needed to be purchased through them, to use the town account to keep bookkeeping clean. VII.
