Town of Land O’ Lakes Town Board Meeting Minutes October 15, 2025 I. Call to order The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. II. Roll call Present: Chairman Dan Balog, Supervisor Sam Otterpohl, Supervisor Kevin Konnow, and Clerk/Treasurer Lynn Jolin. III. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. IV. Approve or Revise Agenda Motion by S. Otterpohl, 2nd by K. Konnow to approve the agenda as printed and posted. All in favor, motion carried. V. Approve Minutes from Prior Meeting(s) Motion by S. Otterpohl, 2nd by K. Konnow to accept the minutes as printed for September 10th, 2025 meeting. All in favor, motion carried. VI. Review and Approve Treasurer Report and Check Vouchers Treasurer Lynn Jolin presented the financial reports including detailed checks, deposits, payroll summary, profit and loss for budget and trial balance. K. Konnow asked about reimbursement for the culvert expense. Lynn Jolin confirmed that she had submitted paperwork to Vilas County and expected to receive approximately $71,000 back within the next couple of months. Motion to pay checks #21331 through #21397 in the amount of $101,710.45 from the General Fund. Moved by: Sam Otterpohl, Seconded by: Kevin Konnow. All in favor, motion carried. Motion to pay check #1646 to Pitlik and Wick in the amount of $142,650.00 from the Tax Collection Account. Moved by: Kevin Konnow, Seconded by: Sam Otterpohl. All in favor, motion carried. Motion to pay EFT to BMO credit card in the amount of $1,090.58. Moved by: Sam Otterpohl, Seconded by: Kevin Konnow. All in favor, motion carried. VII.Open issues a) Operator's License Application The board reviewed an operator's license application for Madison Nyman.. Motion to approve the operator's license for Madison Nyman. Moved by: Sam Otterpohl, Seconded by: Kevin Konnow All in favor, motion carried. b) Appointment Airport Commission Motion to retain Joe Garvin on the Airport Commission. Moved by: Kevin Konnow, Seconded by: Sam Otterpohl All in favor, motion carried. c) Library Programs & Activities Shelly Knaack, Library Director shared information about upcoming library programs and activities: ● Medicare 101 sessions on October 22nd from 1:00-3:00pm ● October movie screening of "Black Bag" on October 23rd at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM ● Candy Bingo on October 29th 1:00pm ● Boo Bash Halloween Party on October 31st, featuring a campfire (weather permitting), hot dogs, popcorn, and a free book for each child 4:30- 6:30pm VII. New business a) Quote to Re-roof Upper Level Fire Hall Building The board discussed a quote from Pett’s Construction to re-roof the upper level of the fire hall. The quote was for $24,485 with $8,485 down payment for materials. There was discussion about the need to insulate the upper level as well. The board also discussed the condition of the cupola on the roof, which appeared to be in rough shape when viewed from below. The members agreed to have it examined to determine if repairs are needed. Sam Otterpohl confirmed that the contractor would store the shingles in his yard under cover until the job begins. Motion to accept the bid from Pett’s Construction to re-roof the upper fire barn for Town of Land O'Lakes, Wisconsin in the amount of $24,485 with $8,485 down.
