ACKNOWLDEGEMENT OF CITIZENS/OPEN FORUM: No one present.
REPORTS
FIRE CHIEF’S REPORT: Chief Lynch reported that there were eight incidents this past month.
The department has revised its training schedule, which has worked out well with the
firefighters. Hose and ladder testing has been completed. The golf outing fundraiser for the
department was a success and have plans to hold the event again next year.
OUTSTANDING FIRE BILLS: Report on file of outstanding fire bills. The Roach Trucking invoice
was discussed.
BUDGET REPORT: Report on file.
NEW BUSINESS
G1. Discussion and possible action on training facility and location.
Chief Lynch explained that the new training facility built by the Shawano and Keshena Fire
Departments was constructed without input from the Bonduel Fire Department. Additionally,
that facility is located outside of the village limits. Chief Lynch noted that the department
possesses sufficient funds to possibly build its own dedicated training facility. Constructing a
local facility would also provide the opportunity for Bonduel to host regional training events.
Chief Lynch requested approval from the Commission to move forward with gathering the
necessary permissions and details.
Motion by Streetman, seconded by Bohm, to authorize the department to research insurance
costs, and construction costs, and to evaluate moving forward with the project. Motion
carried unanimously.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
H1. Discussion and possible action on fire department billing invoice 2024-07.
The Commission reviewed fire department billing invoice 2024-07. It was noted that Mr.
Garcia failed to pay his final payment in May as specified in the payment agreement and a
final notice of default letter was issued to him on June 1, 2026.
Motion by Bohm, second by Gehm to drop further pursuit of invoice 2024-07. Motion carried
unanimously.
H2. Discussion and possible action on departmental procedures, protocol and parade route
for the 4th of July
Chief Lynch presented the operational plan for the 4th of July parade to the Commission. The
department's main trucks will remain at the station fully staffed. Four personnel equipped
with safety vests and radios will be stationed directly along the parade route. All participating
outside fire departments will be briefed on designated exit points along the route should they
need to leave for an emergency call. The Village Municipal Operations Department has
established temporary one-way streets and "no parking" zones to manage traffic and the use
of the school parking lot for parade staging will significantly assist with the parade.
