Notice of Special Recycling Charge

City of Berlin, Green Lake and Waushara County Notice of Special Charge for 2026 Recyclables Collection Service Please take notice that the City of Berlin’s annual Recycling Charge collection fee payment is due as of November 1, 2026. No invoice will be sent for this fee. Instead, this Notice is being published as notice of the special charge, pursuant to Wis. Stat. §66.0627(3)(a). If you are the owner of a residential property that receives recyclables collection services from the City of Berlin, this Notice applies to you. The 2026 annual charge is $74.40 per residential unit, including multi-family dwellings of four or less residential units ($6.20 per month times 12 months). The special charge only applies to residential properties including multi-family dwellings of four or less residential units. It does not apply to vacant lots, commercial units, or multi-family dwellings containing five or more residential units; these properties are responsible for arranging and paying for their own recycling services. The fee is due November 1, 2026 to the Clerk’s Office. Payment can be made online, by mail, or in-person at the City Clerk’s office (108 N. Capron St.). Pay in-person at the Clerk’s Office. Cash, checks, and credit cards* are accepted. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM. The City Clerk’s Drop Box, located in the City Hall front entrance, is available 24/7 for payments made by check. Make checks payable to the City of Berlin. Write “Recycling” and the address or parcel number on the memo line. Paying with the Tax Bill If payment is not made to the Clerk’s Office by November 1, 2026 the special charge will appear on your 2026 tax bill.
