MINUTES 1. The April 9, 2024, meeting was called to order by Chairman Wuest at 6:00 p.m. Present: Wuest, Triemstra, Rather. Absent: Pettack and Reabe Also present: Clerk Morris and Treasurer Toney. 2. Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance. 3. Approve minutes of the March 12, 2024, meeting: M/S Triemstra/Rather to approve the minutes of the March 12, 204 meeting passed. Wuest officially thanked Linda Rather, outgoing board member, for her service. 4. Monthly Financial Review: a. Treasurer’s report – Summary of last month’s financial statements Treasurer reported that March is a constant month, with the tax collections finally over. b. Clerk’s report – Budget report (monthly) expenses and revenues: Clerk reported that participation in the April 2 election was 625 despite the snow. 5. Library report – Christine Lyon, Director: The library report was received and read. 6. Building Inspector report – Building Permits issued: The building permit report was received and read. 7. Fire Commission report – report on monthly meetings: Pettack was absent, so no report was available. 8. County Board Supervisor Report – Harley Reabe was absent, so no report was available. 9. Chairperson Reports a. Road Report – Mike Wuest: When the snow came last Tuesday, many trees were down and so they had to be removed before the snow could be plowed. 10. Supervisor Reports a. Recycling Report – Harley Reabe 11. Weed Commissioner Report 12. Consideration and Action: Quote from Scott’s Construction for Slag Seal on several town roads in the amount of $300,000.00. M/S Reabe/Rather to approve the quote in the amount of $300,000.00 from Scott Construction for Slag Seal on Spaulding, Brkly G, Skunk Hollow, Princeton, St Marie, Sunnyside, Prairie rd (about 10 miles) Wuest: yes; Rather: yes Triemstra: yes. Rendering from legal counsel Re: participation of town supervisors in deliberation on Quarry Application. Wuest read the letter from our legal counsel. Hazelbaker wrote the letter, which will be forwarded to the county. Triemstra clarified his involvement in a quarry in Columbia County. He wanted to make it clear that he has no financial interest in that quarry but served as executor of his uncle’s estate there. 14. Next Board Meeting – May 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. 16.
