Incorporation Celebration Committee Village of French Island Tuesday, August 4th 2026 11:30 AM Location: Celebrations on the River, 2100 Dawson Ave #400, La Crosse, WI 54603 1) Meeting Called to Order: Meeting Called to Order 11:34 A.M. 2) Roll Call, Approval of Minutes & Verify Public Notice: Present: President Kapanke, Trustee Donahue, Trustee Stolpa, Trustee Davison Also present: Director of Events, Kayla Korish and Clerk Stahl 3) Business: A. Walk through possible venue option for Incorporation Celebration Kayla walked the Celebration Committee through both an indoor and outdoor venue options. The committee reached a general consensus that a formal ceremony recognizing the history of French Island will be held indoors beginning at 4:00pm on Saturday, August 29th, with musical entertainment beginning outdoors at approximately 5:00pm. The committee discussed food and beverage options with Kayla. The Committee discussed holding a Vintage Car/Bike at Village Hall earlier this same day. Trustee Donahue confirmed she will work with the Fire Department for set up of chairs and tables. President Kapanke stated he will provide pastries during this time and will also donate the print/mailing of Save- the-Date postcard. Trustee Stolpa confirmed he will work on a music option. The Committee also discussed a Fireworks show to approximately start at 8:15 P.M. The Committee noted that the cost of a fireworks show would need to be further determined, along with the fireworks permit application. The Committee discussed funding option for the Incorporation Celebration, including seeking donations from area business members and community members and accepting free-will donations cover the event expenses. The Celebration Committee determined the next step is to present the proposed Incorporation Celebration plans to the full Village Board for consideration. 4) Adjournment of Meeting Motion to adjourn by Trustee Donahue/Trustee Davison.
