Incorporation Celebration Committee Village of French Island Monday, July 27th, 2026 9:00 AM Location: Village Hall, 2219 Bainbridge St., La Crosse, WI 54603 1) Meeting Called to Order: Meeting Called to Order 9:00 A.M. 2) Roll Call, Approval of Minutes & Verify Public Notice: Present: President Kapanke, Trustee Stolpa, Trustee Davison Also present: Clerk Stahl Motion to recess to 10:30 A.M. by Trustee Davison/Trustee Stolpa. Motion carried 3-0. 3) Meeting Reconvened at 10:30 A.M. 4) Roll Call, Approval of Minutes & Verify Public Notice: Present: President Kapanke, Trustee Donahue, Trustee Stolpa, Trustee Davison Also present: Clerk Stahl 5) Business: A. Review and Discuss Incorporation Celebration The Committee discussed possible celebration dates of Saturday, August 29th or Saturday, September 12th. Trustee Donahue explained that the Village’s State representatives were available on the 29th and that she had spoken with Celebrations on the River and that the venue has availability on the 29th. It was noted by Trustee Stolpa that there would be minimal events in the surrounding communities on the weekend of August 29th. Following discussion, there was a general consensus to proceed with Saturday, August 29th for the Incorporation Celebration and to mail a Save-The-Date postcard. The Committee continued discussion on possible locations/venues and what events should be included during Incorporation Celebration. The Committee recognized the importance of ADA restrooms, parking, and accessibility for all Village residents. No formal recommendations or motions were made regarding this item of business. 6) Adjournment of Meeting Motion to adjourn by Trustee Donahue/Trustee Davison. Motion carried 4-0 (10:46 A.M.)
