Public Comments: Brent Koehn read a resignation letter, turned in his keys and left . Residents then spoke on his behalf , describing how polite, friendly and helpful he was at the dump. They encouraged the board to reach out to him, which Fred agreed to do. The board explained they had not had a meeting to discuss his actions and/or any repercussions as he specifically requested that any action be in open session during a board meeting and all communication between him and the board be in writing. His resignation occurred before the discussion was to be conducted on tonight’s agenda . Someone asked why the agenda mentioned possible disciplinary action and seemed to feel it was intimidating. It was explained that state statute required any possible action to be spelled out on the agenda or the board would not have that option. Having not had the opportunity for that discussion beforehand, it was unknown if disciplinary action would be pursued. Fred explained normally this type of discussion would be in closed sessions to protect the privacy of the employees, but the statute gives employees the right to hold it in open session, which is what Brent chose. When asked if the dump would be open, Taylor offered to work there on Wednesday and Fred will work there on Saturday. The board will schedule a special meeting to discuss staffing the dump and steps forward. Discussion of Employee Issues: Cancelled as employee left. County Supervisors Report: Scott emailed discussed new zoning form changes, new zoning administrator, his new committee assignments, the Hayward Bioplant, and possible Parkland developments. Town Officers Reports: The board will hold a special meeting on Thursday at 9:00 am to discuss passing a resolution authorizing the board to apply for a zero/low interest loan for funding the sanitary sewer lift station project. We will add the dump staffing and lawn mowing to the agenda. Road Report : The crew has been dealing with mowing the roadsides and equipment issues . Wentala Rd paving was discussed, the town will be paving it next, but probably not until the next round of TRIP funding is available.
