REGULAR MONTHLY BOARD MEETING DATE: May 12, 2026
Chairman Fred Stoll called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Supervisors Kevin Mackie and Adam
Olson, Diane Nelson, Clerk; Amy Eliot, Treasurer, Keith Kesler, Fire Chief; and Mark Johnson
and Taylor Lindsay, Streets Dept, were also present.
Minutes: Kevin motioned, seconded by Adam to approve the minutes of last month ’s board
meeting; motion passed.
Financial Report : The financial report showed: $16,998.99 in checking, $220,545.10 in the
general money market account, $5,014.93 in real estate tax account, $66,723.88 in the capital
account for the garage, $54,965.46 in equipment account, and $578.08 in the grant account. Kevin
motioned, seconded by Adam to authorize paying the bills and accepting the treasurer’s report;
motion passed.
County Supervisors Report: Scott discussed Town’s Assn meeting, June 19, will have Dave
Sletten as a speaker. Transportation Dept has been washing bridges, crack-filling and dealing with
potholes. They are still looking for seasonal employees for roads and forestry. He updated the
board on road projects, Superior Days, the 0.5% proposed tax for roads, etc.
Town Officers Reports: Kevin met with Trout Unlimited and they indicated they had nothing to
do with the bridge requirement on Hwy. 27 over Sandy Run. All they've done is provide funding
to upgrade the project to a fish friendly passage and a culvert would meet their needs just fine.
Road Report: The crew has been dealing with roads that are still soft. They’ve been putting away
the plowing equipment and getting ready for spring. Taylor indicated he was pursuing quotes from
a company called Thunder Rd. who does mastic patching. He will try to get a quote for Old
Highway 2 before the next meeting.
Fire Chief Report:
They have had 4 medical calls and 4 mutual aid calls. They have had air tank
work completed under the warrantee. FEMA money is being released soon.
New Business:
Zoning: Nothing required approval.
Highway 27 Resurfacing Project: Matt cancelled due to illness.
Traffic on Clay Rd: Ed Culhane complained about the speed fisherman use on Clay Rd. and
asked for measures to slow them down. Slow signs and speed limit signs are already posted. A
rumble strip does not make sense on a gravel road as it would raise issues with grading. Taylor
will check things out.
Playground Equipment/Lion’s Club/Norvado discussion: Tabled.
Road Inspections: Road inspections will be conducted on May 27
th, starting at the garage at
7:00 am until done.

Garage Progress Report: The land-use permit was approved. DSGW/Windsor are still
working through some clarifications for the state permit. NWB contract has been signed. Twin
Ports Testing contract for construction inspections was also signed. Promissory notes were
sold; funds will be deposited on May 28th. Several changes were approved, including moving
the electrical transformer, moving the well closer to where it enters the building, wall
modifications to simplify future expansion,

was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
