examiner reported overdose rates are down significantly, highway department is preparing
construction bids for summer projects, forestry department is increasing camp sites at county parks
and overseeing the county fairgrounds and finance department is preparing for annual audit.
Town Officers Reports : Fred mentioned receiving a call from a woman hoping we picked up
dead deer, we do not.

for grader, which was granted. Mark indicated the snowflakes are deteriorating to the point they
may not be suitable for display next year

New Business:
Zoning: Nothing required approval.
Approval of Liquor License: Kevin motioned, seconded by Adam to approve the liquor
license for the Brule River Wedding Barn, motion carried. Diane discussed wedding barn’s

ordinance for approval at a future meeting.

allowing snowmobiles to traverse town roads to access a trail. He provided guidance and a

Confirmation of Fire Department officers: Fred motioned, seconded by Kevin to approve
the appointment of the following officers: Chief: Keith Kesler; Deputy Chief: Dale Johnson;
Assistant Chief: Mark Johnson; Captains: Adam Olson, Jon Dillard, and Borg Isaksen.
Inspector Rob agreement update: Kevin discussed the changes to state building codes
requiring Rob to increase his rates, which have been the same for 15 years. Kevin motioned,
seconded by Adam to approve the new rates, motion carried.
Audit Report for 2023 & 2024: The board reviewed the two audit reports, which provided the
best rating we could get given that we are a small municipality with too few staff for multiple
layers of checks and balances.
Garage Progress Report: Tweaks have been made to the plans, eliminating unnecessary
items. The state review of the plans resulted in removing the mezzanine as it would necessitate
a sprinkler system. The grant options we’ve explored are unavailable to us for one reason or
another. Amy is still pursuing options. The current timeline includes:
1) putting it out for bids in March
2) bid opening and selection in April
3) breaking ground in May.
Diane is working on getting the funding straightened out. The bank is one option, the Board of
Commissioners of Public Lands is second, and bonding is third. Bonding provides the lowest
interest rate but needs a referendum by ballot. We may need to get a loan and then pay it off
with bonding. It is too late to get on the April ballot.
Old Business: None
Town correspondence was reviewed. Adam motioned, seconded by Keith to adjourn. The meeting
was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Diane Nelson, Clerk
