Special Meeting of Electors to Authorize Building Garage — Minutes

1 SPECIAL TOWN MEETING NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONSTRUCT MINUTES DATE: Jan 12, 2026 Chairman Fred Stoll called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.. Supervisors Kevin Mackie and Adam Olson, Diane Nelson, Clerk; Amy Eliot, Treasurer, Keith Kesler, Fire Chief; Mark Johnson and Taylor Lindsay, Streets Dept, and several members of the public also attended. Several members of the architectural firm, DSGW, were also present to answer any questions. Garage Presentation: Diane presented a PowerPoint presentation that explained the need for a new garage, what has been done so far, what comes next, and what the cost will be . She also explained the financing options and how a $3,000,000 dollar loan would impact taxes. After some discussion paper ballots were handed out to all Brule residents in attendance. Public Vote: Diane read all the votes aloud and Amy recorded the results. With 19 people voting, 14 voted yes and 5 voted no. The Resolution to Build a Garage was signed by Fred, granting the board authorization to move forward with building a garage. Adjournment: Kevin motioned, seconded by Adam to adjourn, motion carried.
