Keith will get info on installing one from well-drillers capable of installing a high capacity well. Land purchase from DNR: Diane attended the hearing on June 29 at the Douglas County Courthouse . No one else was present other than the DNR representative Nicole Flamang. The next step in the purchase is to hold a special meeting of the town electors to authorize the purchase. Nicole offered to attend the meeting to answer any questions that come up. She indicated this would be a good purchase for the town even if a garage was not placed on the land, due to its proximity to the sanitary district in case they ever decide to expand. She also indicated the DNR recently purchased 20 acres in Brule for $160,000. She felt this land was significantly reduced in price ($31,000 for 20.36 acres) due to the deed restriction of using it for a public purpose . Fred suggested having the elector meeting before the next board meeting, as the notice of the meeting must be posted not more than 20 days nor less than 15 days prior to the meeting . Elector meeting will be scheduled at 6:00 pm on August 8, 2023. Fence Viewing: Fred discovered an easement has been placed on several sides of the 40 acres in question, for the purpose of building a road. Therefore, any fence to be installed would not be on the parcel boundary line but 20 feet off of it. Town correspondence was reviewed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM. Respectfully submitted, Diane Nelson, Clerk
