Amnicon Regular Board Meeting Amnicon Town Hall September 12, 2024 7:00pm Arthur Amys called the meeting to order. All board members were present. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve the August 8, 2024, regular meeting minutes, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Comprehensive Plan Committee – No Report, Highway Dept – Replaced several culverts, grading, hauling gravel, mowing, would like to get caster wheels for the truck plow Tim will get a quote. Tim is planning on borrowing the disc for cutting up the shoulders from Maple to see if it is something we should investigate buying one. Forestry – No Report Fire Dept the Town Board passed a resolution setting the date for the creation of the Fire Department resolution is in the minutes book. Arthur Amys made a motion to place a closed session at the 6;00 pm before the October 10 meeting for contract negotiation with the town operator. Dennis Hill seconded the motion. Motion carried. Discussion took place on the epoxy coating of the town hall floor. The board would like more information before deciding. Arthur Amys made a motion to table any further discussion until the October meeting. Dennis Hill seconded the motion. Motion carried. Douglas County – Mark Liebaert, Bayfield has received $1,000,000 for 60,000 carbon credits, Douglas County should begin receiving their allotment by the end of 2025, as the Forestry Department has passed their audit. Survey on the Fairgrounds revealed that a majority of the citizen want the fair to continue, with improvements. Sheriff’s Department has finally been able to use their shooting range after working out some issues. The budget is done.
