Amnicon Regular Board Meeting Amnicon Town Hall May 9, 2024 7:00pm Arthur Amys called the meeting to order. All board members were present. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve the April 11, 2024, regular meeting minutes, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Comprehensive Plan Committee – No Report Highway Dept – Gravel on Erickson Rd. Middle River Rd. adding gravel Forestry – No Report Sign – Still waiting on the High School for the Logo portion they have started cutting out the pieces. Screener - No movement Still doing research. Discussion on how to set up a resolution to acknowledge the date the Fire Department was created. And need to have the Chief swear in under oath. Douglas County – Mark Liebaert, the election had 11 write in votes and none of the people were qualified to hold the position due to residency. So, the County Board will have to appoint the positions. The county is still negotiating with the city over the lease of the Government Center, they still have not been paying to use the space. The sheriff has closed one half of the jail due to staffing issues. The Zoning Committee is still needing more people to fill vacancies.
