Meeting Minutes February 2024

Amnicon Regular Board Meeting Amnicon Town Hall February 8, 2024 7:00pm Arthur Amys called the meeting to order. All board members were present. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve the January 11, 2024, regular meeting minutes, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Comprehensive Plan Committee – No Report Highway Dept – Working on projects around the hall door trim, toilets, Culvert Inventory. Fixing potholes and soft spots, grading, Forestry – Sappi is interested in setting up a sale on the 80 next to a job they are doing on the Erickson Rd. Mark Liebaert made a motion to sell timber to Sappi at market price, during frozen ground season. Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Sign - Waiting on the High School for the Logo portion. Class B Road permits for Grube Construction, Wren Works, Mike Mikrot, Northern Interstate Construction, Tyler’s Excavating and Dean Amys Excavating. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve the permits and to change the period to annually and to allow the town clerk to issue permits as needed. Mark Liebaert seconded. Motion carried. Renewal of Grube Aggregate’s reclamation plan for the pit on Berg Park Rd. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Arthur Amys made a motion to renew our Joint Powers (mutual aid) agreement with Douglas County, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Douglas County- Mark Liebaert –fairgrounds are trying to come up with new ideas on revitalizing the grounds. Planning for Superior Days is in the works. Possible mutual aid agreement with City of Superior with local departments. Northwest Regional Planning has programs available. The Parkland Trailer Park is all cleaned up.
