Amnicon Regular Board Meeting Amnicon Town Hall March 9, 2023 7:00 pm Arthur Amys called the meeting to order. All board members present. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve the February 9, 2023, regular meeting minutes, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Comprehensive Plan Committee – No Report Highway Dept – Case Loader is running, Backhoe is running, plowing snow, setting up freight company to pick up roller. Forestry - Essen has made the second payment on the Highway D Project. Discussion on purchasing a screener moved to the April meeting. Arthur Amys made a motion to allow the highway department to purchase a welder, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Class B Road Permits – Arthur Amys made a motion to approve permits for Amys Excavating, Grube Construction, Mike Mikrot, Wren Works, Interstate Construction, Tyler’s Excavating, and to allow the Town Clerk to issue permits as need through the rest of the year. Clerk will notify the Town Chairman of any new permits. Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. The Towns Association Meeting in Cable Mark and Gary will attend. The bridge on Middle River over the Poplar River needs to be checked out. Douglas County- Mark Liebaert Superior Days had bad weather so poor attendance by Legislators but we were able to meet with most of the primary ones. They will be lobbying for the return of 1% of the collected Sales Tax which the Towns will share with the Counties. The estimated storm damage to trees in the county forest is yet to be determined.
