Amnicon Regular Board Meeting Amnicon Town Hall January 12, 2023 7:00 pm Arthur Amys called the meeting to order. All board members present. Arthur Amys made a motion to approve the December 8, 2022, regular meeting minutes, Dennis Hill seconded. Motion carried. Comprehensive Plan Committee – No Report Highway Dept – Backhoe is Back up and running, Willl start to redo head gaskets on the Case Loader when time permits, lots of snow plowing. Forestry - Essen has started cutting on the Highway D Project. Discussion on purchasing a rubber tire roller attachment for the grader will place it on February’s agenda. Arthur Amys made a motion to continue the Joint Powers Agreement with Douglas County. Mark Liebaert seconded. Motion carried. Douglas County- Mark Liebaert Carbon Credit Agreement was signed and the first payment will be in a couple of years the total over the agreement will be around $40,000,000 Dollars. Still negotiating the agreement with the City of Superior for the use of the Government Center/Communications Center the percentage of calls handled by the center is significantly more for the city. ECE Power Company will start installing Fiber optic to all their customers in the next year or so. Discussion on how to protect town lands from being sold. We need to discuss this with a real estate attorney. We will continue with the discussion at future meetings. Mark Liebaert made a motion to adjourn, Dennis Hill seconded Adjourned 8:00 pm.
