SUPERIOR PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES SEPT. 9, 2026 A meeting of the Library Board was convened on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Classroom of the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave., Superior, Wisconsin. Board Members Present: Mary Johnson-Garay, Ron Leino, Julie Tersteeg, Sue Hendrickson, Ellen Kreidler, Heather Rickerl, Acacia Nikoi, Jim Purvis, Caitlin Knoll Members Absent: Emily Groves, Nick Ledin, Addyson Gallagher, youth board member Also Present: Sue Heskin, Library Director 1. CALL TO ORDER Sue Hendrickson called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. 2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES – August 12, 2026 Regular Library Board Meeting Motion to approve made by Ron Leino ; Seconded by Ellen Kreidler motion passed unanimously. 3. REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR, written report provided. Update on 2027 Budget process, capital improvement request was made to the city for the north parking lot. 4. APPROVAL OF THE BILLS AND FINANCIAL REPORT – August 2026 Motion to approve the bills and financial report made by Ellen Kreidler ; Seconded by Acacia Nikoi; motion passed unanimously. 5. COMMITTEE REPORTS – Policy and Bylaws Committee meeting of Aug 12, 2026 a. Committee moved that the Library Board adopt the new Interlibrary Loan Policy. Seconded by Julie Tersteeg; motion passed unanimously. b. Committee moved that the Library Board approve the updated library branch agreement with the Friends of the Imogene McGrath Memorial Library. Seconded by Jim Purvis; motion passed unanimously. 6. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT Ellen Kreidler reported Fall book sale will take place September 25th and 26th 7. SPL FOUNDATION REPORT Oct. 21, 5 – 6pm Foundation Birthday, acknowledgement of founding members and donors 8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None 9. NEW BUSINESS - None 10. BUSINESS BY PUBLIC - None 11.
