MEETING MINUTES SUPERIOR PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES August 12, 2026 A meeting of the Library Board convened on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Classroom of the Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave., Superior, Wisconsin. Board Members Present: Ron Leino, Mary Johnson-Garay, Ron Leino, Nick Ledin, Julie Tersteeg, Sue Hendrickson, Ellen Kreidler, Emily Groves, Caitlin Knoll, Members Absent: youth board member Addyson Gallagher, Heather Rickerl, Acacia Nikoi Also Present: Sue Heskin, Library Director; Jim Purvis Library Foundation 1. Board President Sue Hendrickson called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm 2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES – June 10, 2026 Regular Library Board Meeting Motion to approve made by Ellen Kreider Seconded by Nick Ledin Motion passed unanimously. 3. REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR a. Introduction of new school district representative, Caitlin Knoll b. Updates on Services c. Update on 2027 Budget process: the city is in the middle of their budget process, request for capital improvement for north parking lot, loading dock on Ogden 4. APPROVAL OF THE BILLS AND FINANCIAL REPORT – June & July 2026 Motion to approve the bills and financial report made by Nick Ledin seconded by Ron Leino. Motion passed unanimously. 5. COMMITTEE REPORTS – No updates from committees 6. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT – Ellen Kreidler a. Fall book sale will take place September 25th and 26th 7. SPL FOUNDATION REPORT - Jim Purvis a. Met in July. Holding a 10th birthday for the foundation, recognizing founding members and donors, Oct. 21, 6 – 7pm at the library 8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS – None 9. NEW BUSINESS (Discussion and/or action) a. Review of 2026-2027 committees and committee membership preferences b. Nov. meeting will be moved to Nov. 18 because of Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11. 10.
