5.1 City Clerk Report
City Clerk Blunt reported that the recent alcohol license non-renewal process
worked well and expressed interest in working with the City Attorney to
formalize the process for future renewal cycles. The Clerk also updated the
committee on several new alcohol license applications, including requests from
the Douglas County Historical Society, the City of Superior for events at the SS
Meteor, Fairlawn Museum, and Fire Museum, and a potential new establishment
in the former Palace space, while explaining that City-operated venues must
obtain retail licenses rather than temporary nonprofit event licenses to serve
alcohol.
