All present stood and recited the Pledge of Alliance. Mayor Bender asked for affirmation of proper public notice to which Clerk McDonald confirmed the meeting did receive proper public notice.Roll call was taken with Alderpersons Julie Erickson, Leanne Beyer, Mark Lankey, Darrow Novy, Elizabeth Parish, and Tom Hotek. Pat Moen arrived at 7:09PM. Randy Seeley was absent. Others in attendance were: City Treasurer Lisa Johnson, City Clerk Sara McDonald, Hillsboro Police Chief Pat Clark, Hillsboro Street Department employee Mike Burch, Nicolette Nauman from the Hillsboro Sentry-Enterprise, and Greg Kubarski. Motion by Parish, seconded by Beyer to approve May 18, 2026, City Council Minutes as presented. Motion carried by voice vote. Treasurer Johnson and Clerk McDonald provided an update on the City Pool. Vernon County’s sanitarian inspected the pool on June 11, found violations (mostly related to record keeping and paperwork), and will reinspect the pool on June 22. The violations need to be corrected by the reinspection date. Until then, the pool has a conditional permit to operate from Vernon County. Motion to adjourn at 7:20 PM by Hotek, seconded by Beyer.
