Room Tax Commission — Minutes

Room Tax Commission Meeting Minutes Monday October 21, 2024 Greg Kubarski called the Room Tax Commission meeting to order at 6:33pm on Monday October 21, 2024. Kubarski asked if the meeting was properly noticed to which City Administrator Finch replied, “Yes”. Committee Members present included Carol Jefferies and Kim Verbsky. Others in attendance included City Administrator Josh Finch, Administrative Assistant Sara McDonald, Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce Members Dana Stanek and Karri Bartlett. Minutes from Monday, March 18, 2024, Room Tax Commission Meeting were reviewed with Verbsky asking for more descriptive verbiage in future minutes. Motion by Jefferies, seconded by Kubarski to approve these minutes as written. Motion carried. City Administrator Finch presented the Room Tax Financial Report. Verbsky raised questions on variances between reports. Finch will provide further clarification at the next meeting. City Administrator Finch presented the 2025 Room Tax Allocation Requests. Verbsky asked for more in-depth information and full applications to be present in the future. Motion by Kubarski, seconded by Jefferies to approve the requests. Motion carried. City Administrator Finch presented the 2025 Room Tax Budget Review. Discussion of the budget brought forward a need for more information and to hold on approval until the next meeting. Motion by Kubarski, seconded by Jefferies to adjourn at 6:58pm. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:58pm
