Recycle Center Meeting — Minutes

Towns of Little Falls, New Lyme and Lafayette Recycle Center meeting March 3, 2026 Chairman Stuessel called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Expense/Income spreadsheets were handed out to those in attendance. Chairman Stuessel asked everyone if they had a chance to review the minutes from the September 30 2025 meeting. Alan McCoy made a motion to accept the September meeting minutes. Second Gordy Isensee. All in favor 7/7 Motion carried. Minutes accepted. Income/expense summary reviewed. Nate Culpitt made a motion to accept financial report as presented. Second by Alan McCoy. All in favor. 7/7 Motion carried. Representatives from Disposal Companies were recognized and asked to present. Harter Disposal represented by Ross Huber from Lacrosse WI passed out informational sheet with pricing information. Ross states rates include all fees and there won’t be any fuel tax or any other fees added on. States everything would go to Monroe County Landfill. Inquiry asked regarding how quick they would be there when called. Ross stated the turnaround is fast. Gordy asked how often fees are raised. Ross stated service is for 1 year then rebid. Pricing is Recycling $342 per pull Trash $295 per pull $72/ton Construction and Demo $295 per pull $72/ton Hilltopper Refuse and Recycling Service represented by Brandon Crary from Onalaska, WI passed out informational sheet with pricing information. Brandon states everything to go to Monroe County Landfill. Pricing is Recycling $335 per pull and $50 per ton Demo is $335 per pull and $72 per ton Trash is $350 per pull and $72 per ton GFL/MDS represented by Mike Martell from Sparta WI passed out informational sheet with pricing information. States everything to go to Monroe County landfill. Pricing is Recycling $200 per pull no fuel charge unless gets to $4.20 per gallon then 1% increase for every $.20 thereafter Trash is $225 per pull. Fuel surcharge same as above Demo is $220 per pull. Full surcharge same as above. Discussion incurred. Alan McCoy made a motion to accept the quotes from MDS/GFL. Second by Nate Culpitt. All in favor. 7/7 Motion carried. Town advised to do their own service agreement. Current pricing reviewed. Discussion incurred. No changes at this time. Discussion incurred on the state of the compactor and when it breaks down. Discussed owning vs renting. Next meeting to be held on September 29, 2026 at 6:30 p.m at the Little Falls Town Hall Motion made by Gordy Isensee to adjourn the Recycle Center meeting. Second by Alan McCoy.
