Town Board Meeting — Minutes

Board members in attendance: Ginnie Follendorf-Treasurer; Tom Stuessel-Chairman; Matt Swenson-Supervisor, Cassie Schober-Clerk, Alan McCoy-Supervisor Chairman Stuessel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Then read the agenda. Chairman Stuessel asked if everyone had a chance to review the minutes from the August meeting. Alan stated he was not present so could not approve. Matt is running late. August minutes review tabled until Matt arrives. First Agenda item: Liquor License Application-The Hungry Hunter/Brock’s Butcher Block Clerk gave update on license application received and background check for LLC owners Brock Craig and Nathan Parker. No current issues or concerns noted. Alan McCoy made a motion to approve the liquor license for The Hungry Hunter Second by Tom Stuessel. All in favor. Motion carried. 2/0 Clerk will issue license and collect payment. Next Agenda item: Server’s License Applications-*New* Bethany Ahnen, Brock Craig, Amanda Zimmerman, Jamie Peacock-Bielanski, Alan Berg, Mandy Berry Update on applications and background checks for all individuals. Alan McCoy made a motion to approve all server’s license as presented. Second by Tom Stuessel. All in favor. Motion carried. 2/0 Clerk will issue license and collect payment. Matt arrived. Chairman Stuessel then asked if everyone had a chance to review the minutes from the August meeting. Matt Swenson made a motion to approve the minutes from the August meeting. Second by Tom Stuessel. All in favor. Motion carried. 2/0/1 Ginnie Follendorf gave the treasurer’s report. Beginning Balance $ 515,486.83 Monthly Income $ 88,535.22 Monthly Expenses $ 23,434.36 Ending Balance $ 580,587.69 Alan McCoy made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Matt Swenson. All in favor. Motion carried. 3/0 Next agenda item: Monroe County Landfill Prices Paperwork handed out prior to meeting up the updated 2026 Monroe County Landfill prices. Discussion incurred. Chairman Stuessel says he will speak to Modern Disposal. Bill Wadephul asked about scaling. Chairman Stuessel will check into this. Pricing to be reviewed at Recycle Center meeting on 9/30. Matt Swenson gave a fire rep report. There is a new roof on Station 2. No decisions have been made on the new truck yet. Chairman Stuessel stated with budget time approaching we need to start thinking about if there is any culvers or road work that we would need to apply for LRIP on. Also, if any new equipment we will be needing. Town patrolman will look into. Chairman Stuessel asked if anyone had anything else. Clerk stated she would be out of town the date of the next meeting. Discussion incurred. Decided to change meeting date. Tom Stuessel made a motion to move the October meeting to Tuesday October 14, 2025. Second by Alan McCoy. All in favor. Motion carried. 3/0 Ginnie Follendorf gave an update on the new tax program and stated she was given the option of opting out of taking dog license. Support given for this decision by all in attendance. Review of Bills. Matt Swenson made a motion to approve bills. Second by Alan McCoy. All in favor. Motion carried. 3/0 Clerk and treasurer both brought up the NSF check issued by The Dark Horse for liquor license. Discussion incurred on how to resolve this issue. Adding a bounce check fee, 2 week waiting period to clear checks before licenses are issued and ordinance for gentlemen’s clubs. Clerk will look into creating ordinances and presenting to the board. Next board meeting will be October 14, 2025 at 6 p.m. **notice of date change** Recycle Center meeting will be September 30, 2025 at 7 p.m. Alan McCoy made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
