Motion to Approve for Audit by Supervisor Abbott, second, passed 3-0 Clerk’s Report Clerk Brown presented the paid bills for February for Audit. Email upgrade – security upgrade meeting on 3/17/2025 with website provider and .gov Election 2025 Dates – 2/18/2025 – 94 voters (12.5%). Sent 30 absentee ballots and 13 returned. Next election is 4/1/2025 – election workers are scheduled, absentees sent. Training started with new clerk. 4H bake sale here at town hall on 4/5/2025 and Leon Garden Club on 5/10/2025. Annual Meeting Wed. April 23, 2025 Road bids ready to post once April meeting is decided. Annual financial report started. ARPA materials ready, but can’t open until 4/1/2025. Motion to Approve for Audit by Supervisor Abbott, second, passed 3-0 Patrolman Report Bruce has been cutting brush working with the town of Portland and it will be chipped yet this week. So far, no road damage from the winter weather. County road bans are currently in place. Bruce asked that we ask for bids for mower for the annual meeting – there are no specs listed for this, but clerk will post it anyway. n/a Justin Trails Resort request for Class B Retail License Discussion and Action Donna Justin got a Beer & Wine licenses in 2013, following state statutes. Other venues were letting alcohol come in with no licenses across the state, so The Tavern League and Winery Association worked for a new law in June 2024. Any barn weddings already in business in 2025 that have a minimum of 5 events and $20,000.00 can get a class B license for 2026. They can get an exemption certificate from the state if they satisfy this in 2025. They would also have to pay $10,000.00. The licensing would only apply to paying guest events, not a public bar. There was much discussion. State supporting documents were supplied. Motion to Approve a request for the Class B Retail License for 2026 pending satisfaction of the state requirements, state provided certificate, and pay all applicable fees by Supervisor Abbott, second Supervisor Olson. Pass 3-0 Legal fees for Vacate Leon St Discussion and Action The town paid $290 in legal fees to file the documents to vacate Leon St., plus all the time spent by the clerk. There was much discussion as to whether the tax payers should pay for the expense done to benefit the Community Center. Motion to bill Leon Community Center for half of the legal fees by Chairman Selbrede, Second Supervisor Olson. Passed 3-0. Dates for Large item dumpster and Tire Collection The following dates were scheduled by Bruce April 23 and April 26th. This coincides with the County Clean Sweep. We will not accept mattresses. Last year prices covered costs. Motion to approve these dates and prices to remain the same, and no mattresses by Supervisor Abbott, second by Supervisor Olson. Passed 3-0 Next Meeting Date April 16, 2025 NOTE change of date!! New town officers will be sworn in at that meeting. n/a Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 6:44pm.
