Planning Commission Meeting Minutes from 4/8/25Meeting Attendees: Wayne, Kathy, Lori, Fred, Travis, Dale Meeting called to order 5:16pmDiscussion:Meeting minutes from previous meeting approved moved by Lori and seconded by Fred-motion passedReviewed the letter from Lowberg considering the Planning Committee formation overall no objections from the committee overall. Discussion around making the changes as referenced in letter and returning to the new Town Board for approval in the coming month. Motion made to make the changes and return to the Town Board (Kat) Travis seconded-all approved. Travis will make the edits.All Croix Inspection Presentation discussion as Todd Dolan will be presenting at the Town Board meeting this evening. Questions regarding how the process is implemented overall and how the structure works. Dale will ask for more clarity overall on how All Croix does work with the Town overall. Also discussed All Croix concerns on ordinance for Barndomindims etc. and who checks setbacks overall. More clarity during the Town Board meeting.Comprehensive plan Discussion:Committee reviewed recent plan received from Ken on 4/7. Lori Commented on the following:Pg 1 Sentence 1 Planning Vision and Roles-Input friendly advisory committee? Who is this committee reference?Pg3 Utilities-Town tax role (Planning Committee)-we did not discuss anything regarding tax rates or mil ratesPg 4 Ag-Second Sentence-We do want to- “We will work” with our farmers. Sentence 3 “We will encourage the use of best practices. Not we will “require”.We need to ensure that the Town of Martell people understand that they are the ones that have requested these directions or ordinances etc. to ensure we try to continue our way of life in the Town of Martell. Remove the “Extreme weather event comment”. We didn’t discuss extreme weather in our Comprehensive Plan. Typo’s:Pg 7 (15) Botton “from” instead of formPg 19 (11) Map is incorrectPg 34 (26) Top Utilities section “preforms” road maintenance vs. performsPg 55 (47) Bottom Zoning “review new housing and??? Sentence just ends. All Maps 42-46 need updated. Travis will look to see if he can send maps from previous Comprehensive Plan to Ken to utilize those maps instead.
