Discussion:
• Wayne indicated that the two items on the agenda for discussion tonight the road ordinance
would not be discussed as we did not have anything to review from the attorney. That will be
rescheduled to next month.
• Trailblazers CUP
o Wayne opened to the committee to provide questions or feedback based on the new
application from Rich/Trailblazers for their CUP
o Prescott would like to ensure trailblazers complete the DNR website course work to help
ensure environmental compliance that DNR may suggest after completing the
documentation on the website
o Rich was asked by Fred and Prescott to ensure his application is made clearer to ensure
that it isn’t perceived that he will be living near the site.
o Prescott mentioned he would like to understand how quickly he will be streamlined
and up to production speed 30, 60 days?
o Fred mentioned we should have the CUP reviewed in 1-year increments versus the 2-
year increments.
o Prescott would like Rich to see if Adam will allow him to run a decibel test prior to him
being able to actually get back to utilizing the property. Prescott was also invited to
attend by Rich and he will try to arrange that before the Town Board meeting
o Prescott mentioned having a gate for the property which Rich agreed he would and
had planned on doing
o Rich would need to install signage with emergency contact numbers etc.
o Rick would need to install ~20 feet of trees to create a tree line to hide it more from
the roadway.
• A motion was made by Travis to have the seven (bolded) items above added to the Town CUP
approval form from the county and have the Town Board approve the CUP with the 7 conditional
items listed for approval. Motion was 2nd by Wayne-All approved.
• Discussion around Bond and if/who owns ensuring there is a Bond for these types of issues.
There was a recommendation to defer this to the county for resolution or understanding when
the CUP is submitted by the Town Board for approval.
• Also the Planning Committee would ask that Robin follow up with the Town Board Association to
ask how Bonds are handled in general for our learning and provide the Planning Committee with
some feedback.
At this point Wayne opened the meeting for public comments asking that each person limit their time to
2 minutes.
• Terry Cap-He was concerned that it didn’t appear that the brush pile had been turned over and
only added to since the last meeting. Rich indicated it had been worked but more from the
middle and that he was limited based on his “cease and desist” letter from the county but he
assured Terry he was working the pile and he invited Terry over to see the progress as well.
• Lute Berkey-Raised concerns regarding the potential spread of disease from diseased trees. Rich
indicated he is following the DNR plan on not cutting Oak wilt during the summer to stem the
spread, Ash Borer has already spread too much and there isn’t anything anyone can do and DNR
indicated there are no limitations to cutting/transport based on the fact that the disease is in all
areas, and spongy moth isn’t a disease we have in this region currently so again there are not
limitations based on DNR feedback.
• Wayne-asked if Rich was selling the larger logs to the sawmill and he indicated yes, and that he
(Rich) was going to try and sell firewood as a side as well. Rich also indicated he would be taking
some to a green fill land fill in Prescott.
• Tracy Cataract-Discussed her mother and fathers’ health issues specifically her father with his
pneumonia. He is currently hospitalized and burning could create further health issues. Rich
indicated that Gladys was about ¼ mile due south of the property. Prescott asked that Rich be
able to share his burning protocols for/to the neighbors and be able to share it with the Town
Board during the next meeting of the Board.
Next meeting is 6/23 @6:30pm
Agenda for the next meeting
• Road Ordinance -review and take action for recommendation to Town Board
• Preliminary discussion on data centers and how we should think about them.
Wayne made a motion to adjourn that was 2nd by Wayne and 2nd by Travis and all approved. 7:05pm
