Roads Committee Meeting — Minutes

Town of River Falls Road Committee Minutes Date: January 14, 2026 Present: Terry Kusilek, Brad Mogen, Dalton Flick, Don Rodewald, Cole Hanson, Rob Schaar and Peter Stern Meeting called to order at: 4:06 PM 1. Motion to approve agenda by Terry, seconded by Don. Motion carried. 2. Motion to approve minutes from December 11, 2025, by Don, seconded by Cole. Motion carried. 3. No public comments. 4. Rob and Dalton built a hitch for the Kubota tractor so multiple pieces of equipment can be attached to the front of the tractor. They are also making some repairs to the salt brine pump on one of the trucks. Used oil furnace is running okay, but we may need some additional oil to get through the winter. The plan is to get the new LP furnace set up as a backup. Rob also mentioned that Wedum Enterprises should be here in the spring to trim trees on some of the roads. 5. Salt sand pricing was calculated and is based on there being 40 buckets of sand in a ton of salt sand mix. Pierce County charges $47.04 per ton and that does not include hauling. Based on this calculation we should be charging $2.00 per 5-gallon bucket to town residence. 6. Rob and Dalton handed out maps of potential roads to have Blade Patching and Sealcoating this coming year. The plan is to hopefully spend about $60,000.00 on sealcoating and about $100,000.00 on Blade Patching. It costs about $2,200.00 per load for Blade Patching. Terry also mentioned that if we take a whole semi load of oil Monarch Paving will make us extra Blade Patch especially for our Town. This would be in addition to the normal Blade Patch we take. 7. The town has various agreements with other towns on snow plowing and various road items. The plan is to get these agreements documented. Road policies and ordinances review was put on hold until we gather what we currently have. 8. Brad will send out some meeting dates for us to meet and watch the LRIP , WISLER and PASSER YouTube videos. 9. Terry spoke to the State Patrol on the rules on road weight restrictions. 10. Next agenda items. Sealcoating, Blade Patching, normal agenda items and 2025 budget review. Next meeting date will be February 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Motion by Don to adjourn the meeting.
