Roads Committee Meeting — Minutes

Town of River Falls Road Committee Minutes Date: December 11, 2025 Present: Terry Kusilek, Don Rodewald, Cole Hanson and Peter Stern Excused absence: Rob Schaar, Dalton Flick and Brad Mogen Meeting called to order a 4:05 PM. 1. Approved agenda with the removal of item number 5. Deferred discussion of road policies and possible updates until additional information is supplied. Motion by Don to approve agenda with change. Second, by Cole. Motion carried. 2. Motion by Don to approve November 13, 2025, minutes. Second, Terry. Motion carried. 3. No public comments. It was noted that a driveway entrance at the north end of the newly paved Saddle Club road will need some repair. It will be looked at in the spring. 4. 2026 will be a maintenance year for various roads (additional seal coating and cold patching) and a preparation year for the major reconstruction project on Saddle Club road south of State HWY 29 in 2027. Snowplowing is going well with the recent storms. 5. Road policies and consolidation of policies were deferred until next meeting. 6. All property owners have been notified of the upcoming tree trimming project on 820th Street. Logs will be stacked on private property and not on the road right away for liability purposes. Also looking at how to handle a large cottonwood tree on 860th avenue. 7. Item 7 update was addressed in item number 4. 8. LRIP grant for $45,000.00 has been submitted. On December 18th a meeting at the El Paso Townhall all grant requests will be reviewed. Other Towns have also applied for the same grant so we may or may not get the funds. 9. Don gave an update on the Wisconsin Information System for local Roads. (WISLAR) This year’s report has been completed. Don will be submitting it to the state by Monday, December 15th. We also talked about how to handle getting all the signs redone for the Town. Plan is to have some discussions with Pierce County Highway to see what the cost would be. It would be a multi-year project. The next meeting date would be January 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Motion by Don to adjourn the meeting. Second, by Cole. Motion carried at 5:10 PM.
