Board of Review — Minutes

BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING MINUTES TOWN OF DODGEVILLE May 19th, 2025 Board of Review was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Town Chairman, Curt Peterson. Members present were: Pam Johnson-Loy, David Pope and Peter Vanderloo. Also present were: Assessor Barrett Brenner and Clerk-Treasurer Sara Olson. Absent was: Kyle Levetzow. Clerk Olson verified that proper notice of the BOR was posted on May 2nd, 2025 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. In additional notice was also published in the Dodgeville Chronicle on April 29th, 2025. Peter Vanderloo moved that this Board of Review is in compliance with the open meeting law. Pam Johson-Loy seconded the motion. Roll call: Johnson-Loy, yes; Pope, yes; Vanderloo, yes; and Peterson, yes. Motion carried. David Pope made a motion to nominate Curt Peterson to serve as Chairperson for this BOR. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Roll call: Johnson-Loy, yes; Pope, yes; and Vanderloo, yes. Curt Peterson abstained from this motion. Motion carried. Pam Johnson-Loy made a motion to nominate David Pope to serve as Vice-Chair for this BOR. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Roll call: Johnson-Loy, yes; Vanderloo, yes; and Peterson, yes. David Pope abstained from this motion. Motion carried. David Pope made a motion to accept the June 4th, 2024 meeting minutes as presented. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Clerk Olson also verified that Curt Peterson and Pam Johnson-Loy satisfied the training requirements for BOR. Assessor Barrett verified the filing and presented a summary of the Annual Assessment Report. Clerk Olson verified that the 2025 Assessment Roll was received and that she witnessed Barrett Brenner signing the assessor’s affidavit. Board of Review Chairman, Curt Peterson established the procedures of operation/hearings. There were no objectors present and no notices of determinations to be completed. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to adjourn the 2025 Board of Review meeting at 7:00 p.m., seconded by David Pope. Roll call: Johnson-Loy, yes; Pope, yes; Vanderloo, yes; and Peterson, yes.
