Presidents Correspondence:
Bob Spurley commented that all committee meetings need to be held in preparation for the 2026 budget
process. He shared that the Frolic Committee has asked if the Village could share in the costs of the
entertainment for the 75th celebration in 2027.
Clerk/Treasurer Correspondence:
Sue Lindner reported that she will be attending the clerks conference in La Crosse on August 20th – August
22nd. Sue also reminded the board that meeting dates need to be set up for Personnel & Budget meetings.
Staff Reports:
Sewer/Water/Public Works
Randy Kitelinger reported that with all the rain, it is hard to keep up with all the grass mowing and because of
all the rain the volume of water coming through the sewer plant has greatly increased. This could potentially
cause him to be out of compliance. The county Highway Department came and paved the patch on Galena
Street which had previously been torn up to fix a water problem. This bill will need to be split equally between
the village and the homeowner. Randy reported that Wednesday night of the frolics, the women’s bathroom
toilet plugged up. After many attempts to unclog the toilet, he purchased a drain snake and was able to get it
cleaned out. He also reported that the lights were not working on the 1st base line, and he replaced the breaker to
get them working. Mike and Randy cleared out the leftover food from the concession stand. Randy suggested
that a housekeeping list be posted in the Parkhouse so the person running it knows the expectations.
Mike Silvers commented that he has been having trouble getting the water reporting system set up in his name.
He also reported that he had passed another sewer test in July. Mike reported to the board that the shutoff valve
needs to be replaced at 706 Franklin Street.
Police Correspondence:
Alan Schrank said that he is looking into collecting fines from 2002. He is still working on unregistered
vehicles. Alan suggested that the Village Board update the dog ordinance limiting the number of dogs to 2 per
household. Alan also reported that the speed trailer needs new batteries. He also reported that the tires have
been replaced on Engine #1 and the old tires will be posted on Wisconsin Surplus with the money going to the
village. Pump & ladder testing has been completed and Engine #1 & 2 both passed. DOT inspection and oil
changes will be completed at Larry’s.
