Town Board — Minutes

Town of Exeter Regular Board Meeting Monday, April 8, 2024 – 7:00PM Ted Fahey, Mark Gundlach, Kent Brauer, and Clerk Sass were present. Town members: None. Notice legally posted. Minutes: The minutes from March 11, 2024, regular meeting presented. Motion to approve March 11, 2024, regular meeting minutes (MG/KB), all in favor, approved. Treasurer Report: Dawn summarizes balance as of March 31, 2024: $520,406.19. ARPA funds gained $502.69 in interest. The balance is now $116,806.34. Motion to approve treasurer report (KB/MG), all in favor, approved. Announcements: April 2nd election - 479 people voted (33.496% of registered voters). A mattress sale to benefit Belleville H.S. band will be held on Saturday, April 13 from 10AM to 4:30PM at the high school. Supervisor report: Ted – lots of complaints about a property on County Hwy CC and Exeter Crossing Road. Adam from Green County Zoning has also received many complaints and keeps calling Ted about them. There are other properties with similar issues in Exeter - East Dayton property – items right on edge of road, a home on County Hwy D also has lots of junk. The county highway department met with the DNR on March 20 at the Airport Road bridge, culvert already on site, next week the old culvert will be removed and new one installed. We were told this is the largest culvert the company has ever made. Mark – nothing. Kent - nothing Citizen Input: None Committee Reports: Mark – new vault toilet is in. We were left with some touch up paint for the toilet building. Kent – urinal is not particularly good (imagines a lot of back splashes). Ted has had comments that the toilet is not level. A timed lock will be installed in the next week or two. One of the park committee members is trying to get an article in the paper. Rick – pickle ball net is up. Unfinished: New Business: • Annual Meeting – Wednesday, April 17th at 7:00PM • Damaged driveway – will see if we can get the highway department to asphalt when they are in the area or homeowner can hire someone and we will pay the bill. • Road bids – Airport Road bridge will cost about $60,000.00, Exeter Crossing – use ARPA money – culverts (TRIP money about $18,000) grinding, grading and two lifts of blacktop, Hillcrest subdivision – durapatch and seal coat, Sand Crane and Wood Duck needs sealing, and park road – sealcoating. May 13 will be bid opening date at 3:00PM. Bids will be awarded at the Monthly meeting that evening. • Bills – Motion to pay bills (MG/KB), all in favor, approved.
