1. Chris Narveson called the Town Board Meeting to order at 06:01 PM.
2. Proof of Posting - Clerk Treasurer Amber George attested to the proper proof of posting
(January 12th, 2026) and publication (January 12th, 2026)
3. Motion made by Mark Pernitz to approve minutes from 12-10-2025. Seconded by Dan
Gartzke. Motion approved by unanimous verbal vote.
4. Public Time.
a. Angie Sweetwood with the Pec Valley ATV/UTV club was present to ask if they
could start the process to open county roads and they were given the green light. The
club pays for all signing required on the roads.
b. Drew Delforge’s complaint was heard about the additional billing for garbage and
recycle was not included on the tax bills creating a hardship for people not split the
$240 additional charge over 2 payments. The board agreed to split the bill just as
they are allowed on the tax bill. Chair Narveson stated we have had a turnaround in
clerk/treasurers’ positions and this was their 1st time with getting taxes rolls out but
this really points out the $70/person for EMS service compared to our garbage
charges of $240/residential house.
c. Chair Narveson addressed Bill French on EMS representation on the Belleville
district was brought up and it was pointed out that the Town of New Glarus was only
contracting services and not part of the district for 2026, so we have no representation
until we are part of the district.
d. Rob Ready presented concerns about the packets not including financial information.
Chirs responded that the information is public record so in the future we will include
it online and in person.
5. Patrolman Report – Ron Rosslein explained the current state of snow plowing and other
municipal services.
6. Building Inspector Report
7. Discussion about submitting an insurance claim on Western Star Plow Truck. Ron Rosslein
explained how the snowplow truck slid on the road in November after a snowstorm. The
truck hit a tree and dented the top wing. No injuries. This information has been sent to the
insurance company for a claim.
8. Clerk Treasurer Report. ACH payments included tax disbursements to school districts and fire
department. Motion to approve checks #22211 through #22235 made by Mark Pernitz and
seconded by Matt Streiff. Motion approved by unanimous verbal vote.
9. Chairperson Report
10. Update on EMS – The board has seen impressive ambulance response times from the
Belleville EMS. In addition, 70-80 volunteers have joined the Belleville Area EMS. The
board will seek more representation for the Town of New Glarus in Belleville EMS decisions
if the Town of New Glarus and Belleville EMS form a new district.
11. Update on Town Shop – The foundation is completed. Building materials are to be dropped at
the site in late January and construction can begin in late February when a crew becomes
available.
12. Plan Meeting cancelled on 01-05-2026. Next Meeting scheduled for 02-02-2026.
