The conference registration fee is $125, in addition to hotel accommodations at the government rate and mileage reimbursement. These expenses were included in my approved 2026 budget. The WRDA Fall Conference is a valuable resource that provides educational opportunities, procedural guidance, and important updates regarding legislative changes affecting the Register of Deeds office. New Business i. Appointment of Cindy Rice as RN Supervisor and Establishment of Rate of Pay BACKGROUND Rice previously served as the Director of Nursing (DON) for Pleasant View, retiring in 2022. She has agreed to come back as a part-time Limited Term Employee (LTE) to serve in a supervisor capacity to provide one-to-one review of staff performance and skill, provide skill training and return demonstration for competency and have supervisory authority to guide and direct staff in their performance. Being a rehired annuitant of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), Rice would not need benefits from the County. Interim Administrator Snow is recommending hiring Rice as RN Supervisor at Grade 70, Step K, $46.50/hour for 2026 and in 2027, Educator Coordinator Grade 75, Step K. The reason for the transition to Educator Coordinator in 2027 is that this position better aligns with the tasks that Rice will be performing, but the rate for this position is well below what is expected for an experienced RN performing this role. RECOMMENDATION Appointment of Rice as noted above.
