05.05.2026 Waterloo Utilities Meeting Minutes

Regular meeting of the Waterloo Water & Light Commission held May 5, 2026 Meeting called to order by President Devin Schumann at 7:00pm at the Waterloo Utilities office. Present were Commissioners Vern Butzine, Pam Kuhl, Michael Tschanz, Richard Weihert, Superintendent Barry Sorenson, Office Manager Joy Bisco, Mayor Jenifer Quimby, and Charlie Kuhl. Minutes Motion by Butzine, seconded by Tschanz, to approve the minutes of the April 6, 2026 meeting. Motion carried. Expenditures Motion by Weihert, seconded by Kuhl, to approve the April disbursements as presented. Motion carried. Citizen Input None. Portzen Pay Request No pay request was received. Reservoir Maintenance Update Sorenson updated the Commission on the Lane Tank quote to complete DNR recommended maintenance, fencing quotes, and topcoat quote. Qtr 1 Financials First quarter financials were reviewed. Electric Project Update Sorenson updated the Commission on the electric projects and storm damage. Building Improvements Quotes were reviewed for replacing carpet in high traffic areas of 575 Commercial Ave. General Info The utility received notification of possible appropriations funding for water infrastructure.
