. . Park & Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes August 3, 2026 1. Call Meeting to Order, Roll Call and Pledge to the Flag: Chairman Peter Mark called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Members present included Rick Ziegler and Chris Griswald. Commissioner Ryan Lipovsek was absent. 2. Approval of previous minutes: Ziegler made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Mark seconded the motion. Motion carried, 3-0. 3. Report from Park & Recreation Staff: Adnrew Beaudette indicated that the staff is preparing for the Tailgate Treasures event. Ben Degner indicated that he will be meeting with the engineer from the insurance company to review the metal roofs. 4. Discussion and possible action on Fall Festival: The Commission discussed this item, and no action was taken other than to agree that there would be no fall fest for 2026 due to the lack of members. 5. Discussion and possible action on Christmas Tree lighting a. Fundraising efforts – Rick: We Energies donating towards the tree was discussed, as well as a sign displaying the donation. There were concerns about the sign and it was determined that Attorney Riffle should be consulted before any agreements or donations are accepted. It was also discussed to obtain approval from the Town Board to remove the U.S. Flag from the flagpole during the display period of the lighted tree. No action was taken at this time and this item will be discussed at a future meeting. 6. Discussion and possible action on Baseball contracts & fees for 2027 season a. Update of field prep costs from Park staff b. Update on waste removal costs c. Update on power / electrical costs Beaudette reviewed the contracts and provided amendments for the Commission members to review. This item will be placed on the next agenda. 7. Update, discussion and possible action on filling open Park & Rec Commission positions a. New commission member Erin Martinez: No action was taken on this item due to a non-response from Erin Martinez. 8. Discussion and possible action on fundraising for playground equipment at Ixonia firemen’s park a. Fundraising Working Group activities and Community fund raising events b. Tailgate Treasures – Community Trunk Rummage sale at town hall – August 22, 8am – 1:00pm – Vendors $20 for two parking spots – Advertisement c. Dockhounds Ixonia Night – August 7th will raise $5 per ticket purchased through QR code. d. Beer Garden August 1st Discussion by the Commission; no information has been provided as to donated funds, too early to note. Workers for the Tailgate Treasure’s event is being provided by staff donating their time, this includes the different departments within the town. Griswald offered to obtain 5 signs for the event to be placed around town for advertising. 9. Review previous months Financial Reports: Reports were reviewed. 10. Next meeting date – September, Ixonia Town Hall: This information was reviewed. 11. Motion to Adjourn: Ziegler made a motion to adjourn at 6:10 pm and seconded by Griswald. Motion carried, 3-0.
