Park & Recreation Committee Minutes August 11th, 2025 1. Call Meeting to Order, Roll Call and Pledge to the Flag: Chairman Peter Mark called the meeting to order at 5:01pm. Members in attendance included Ryan Lipovsek, Carl Jaeger, Chris Griswold, Peter Mark, Heather Harris and Rick Ziegler (arrived late). Staff members included Ben Degner and Andrew Beaudette. 2. Approval of minutes: Harris made a motion to approve the July 14th minutes as presented. Jaeger seconded the motion. Motion carried, 5-0. 3. Report from Park & Recreation Staff a. Summer staff: Brayden is done for the summer and Dylan has 1 more week b. Baseball activity: Baseball has completed and teams are turning in keys/paying for games c. General Update on Parks & Activities: Extra Prep being completed for Ixonia Town and Country Days 4. Discussion and possible action on 2025 movie night – August 19 Rain date Aug 26 a. Chip donations – Ryan - done b. Inform Chivaree on park – done c. Advertising - ongoing d. Concessions: Discussion of menu and pricing i. Kwik Trip donation: Chris to obtain food/drink from Kwik Trip with donation ii. Staffing: 2 ladies from church, Chris, Peter and daughter, Carl **Additional discussion regarding cash box/petty cash for concessions, candy and purchase of from Costco or Sam’s Club. Ryan to drop off extra cheese (left over from baseball) and serving gloves along with donation of chips. Chris will stop by Town Hall and pick up tote with all supplies leftover from last year. Approval to use IYB Popcorn popper and Andrew to bring from Ski Slide to Fireman’s Park. 5. Discussion and possible action on proposal for Morris memorial: Harris made a motion to approve and move forward with Morris Memorial donation at Fireman’s Park with site to be determined by park staff. Ziegler seconded the motion. Motion carried, 5-0 6. Discussion and possible action on Fall Festival Sunday October 26, 2025: Times of Fall Fest from 10-2 with set up starting at 8am. Ziegler to contact vendors. Town staff to add application form to website. Ziegler gave update on Touch a Truck contacts which include; Jefferson Co, Fire/EMS, Flight for Life, GFL and Town Highway Department. Harris reports that Chivaree has already been notified. Will need volunteers for kids goodie bags, costume contest and to coordinate costume contest prizes. A volunteer is also need to contact the Fireman’s Association regarding possible donation/prize donations. 7. Discussion and possible action regarding Pickleball: Discussion regarding pickleball included community desire and to consider possible location. No decision made. 8. Discussion and possible action regarding Trick-or-Treat date and times: Lipovsek made a motion to have Ixonia Trick or Treat the last Saturday of October each year from 3pm-7pm. Griswold seconded the motion. Motion carried, 5-0. Will present recommendation to Town Board for approval. 9. Fundraising efforts for playground equipment at Fireman’s Park: Finalize letter and mail out in September. Make bucket for donations at Movie Night and consider donation through Kwik Trip Community Impact. 10. Update, discussion and possible action on filling open Park & Rec Committee position: No new applications at this time, no further discussion. 11. Discussion and possible action on park use fees including baseball contracts: Consider looking at next month along with budget. 12. Review of previous months’ Financial Reports: Reviewed 13. Next meeting date – September 8th, 2025, at 5pm and Thank you to Heather Harris for her 5 years of commitment to the Park and Rec Commission. 14.
